Creatine, a metabolite of the amino acids methionine, arginine, and glycine, is produced in the liver, kidneys and pancreas. Carnosine® Beta-Alanine is the precursor of carnosine, a crucial muscle pH buffer. Supplementation has been shown to increase the concentration of carnosine in muscles, decrease fatigue in athletes and increase total muscle workload.* Carnosine is not as effective a supplement as beta-alanine since, when taken by mouth carnosine breaks down into histidine and beta-alanine. Citrulline is a precursor of arginine and is readily converted into arginine. Natural betaine anhydrous works as both an osmolyte and methyl donor that improves water utilization and physical performance.* Also known as trimethylglycine it has been the subject of a number of studies indicating health and performance benefits that support significant improvement in physical performance, especially in strength, power and endurance.* As an osmolyte betaine affects cell volume and protects cells, proteins and enzymes against the stress that comes with low hydration levels.* In humans, most of betaine’s purported benefits derive from its role as a methyl donor.
